Jamie Grace Davis

Bio

Jamie Grace Davis is an LA based artist, currently working abroad. She concluded her MFA program at Otis College of Art and Design, January 2015, with the conclusion of exhibition: Points of Departure. Her interests lie in pictorial construction through movement, patterns, awareness and investigation. She has devoted time to both areas of study: visual and kinesthetic, to produce further understanding of how these two ways of knowing influence and inform one another.  The forms of production are most commonly practiced as drawings, delivered as paintings, and performance, but they have extended to include installation, video and photograph.  Jamie employs the language of abstraction generated from painting as a record of movement in and of itself. In her integration and juxtaposition of these two areas of study, the painting is the performance. The result is what the artist calls performative installation or landscape choreographies.
